This release brings automated, local exports to all users! 🚀
We don’t believe files and folders as the best interface for knowledge work. They’re tedious to manage and require constant decision making that takes away from your real work. Our approach is different: structured objects with types, rich interlinking, and a time layer to tie everything together.
That said, we also recognize the value of files for long-term storage, access, and redundancy. This release provides durable access to your data for the future, without the need to think about files day to day.
Combine this with our offline first approach with free syncing across all devices, you have peace of mind and an enjoyable note-taking experience that just works.
Automated Export
Open Settings > Export and configure your settings there. Choose which spaces to export, how often, and to where, and let it work behind the scenes for you!
You can read in detail about how our export works in our docs.
Local Export
We have replaced the previous export via email with local export too! There’s no need to wait for emails to deliver your exports anymore, they are just saved directly to your downloads folder. ⚡
Other Improvements and Fixes
As always, we’ve been working on a suite of improvements…
Latest Open AI models
We’ve updated the AI Assistant to use the latest Open AI models. You can now choose between using their smarter GPT-4.1 model or the faster GPT-4.1 nano. Because of the new model’s pricing, you can now use the AI Assistant almost twice as much as before with the same AI budget. Read more about the models here.
New object type templates
- Media - save time setting up object types with one unified Media object type, and a tag property for the media type. Read more about this here
- Trip - Centralize your travel planning in Capacities. You can see how to use this in action here
We’ve also added a how-to guide for each template to give you some ideas to get started.
Now supporting tldraw, excalidraw and IAWriter embeds
View your content directly in Capacities with these new embeds! Paste the links, choose the embed view and get to work. 🏃♀️➡️
You can find the full list of supported embeds here in our docs.
Spell check in your language
A new experimental feature where you can choose your spell-check language.
Next Up
We’ll be doing a deep dive of bug fixing and improvements for Android and iOS, and follow up with continuing to develop PDF annotations.
That’s still not all! You can read about all the other improvements and fixes in the changelog below.

Removed swipe-to-navigate on mobile for performance reasons.
Larger size of login/registration buttons on mobile.
Added the ability to insert a new block above and below selected blocks on mobile (phone and tablet).
Improved visibility of active page in the pagination footer, especially in dark mode.
The formula editor in tables now also supports the undo/redo function.
An attempt is made to close the app automatically if this is requested by the operating system, e.g. due to an update. Ticket

Always show graph view on tablet in component header (was hidden on small screens or in portrait mode).
Better logic for counters in numbered lists. Headings of higher order now reset the counter in numbered list headings of lower order. Ticket

The automatic deletion of empty objects functionality has been restored. Ticket

The images in the card view are now displayed correctly again. Ticket
The number formatting is now also respected in PDF exports.
The active editors of the math block and formulas are now automatically closed as soon as the settings are opened. Ticket

No sudden scroll position jumps when focusing text. The scroll position of the current window still follows the cursor whenever it leaves the current viewport.
