What's next?
A preview of what to expect in the next months.
Published: August 4th, 2026
We've shipped a lot of what was on our last roadmap: recurring tasks, model providers for Capacities AI, weblink analysis and reader mode, image analysis, API 2.0, richer AI Chat Connectors, and a wave of polish across the app. You can see everything in our What's new section.
We're still shipping nearly every week, and the next months are about making Capacities feel faster, clearer, and more useful in the places you work every day. Here's what we have planned for the short- to medium-term.
Reminders for tasks
Tasks already support deadlines and recurring schedules. Next up is reminders: tasks that surface at a specific time so nothing important slips through. You can vote and follow along here.
Apple Calendar and CalDAV support
Time is a core pillar of Capacities. We want your calendar and your knowledge base to sit closer together. We're working toward support for Apple Calendar and CalDAV so you can see relevant events alongside your daily notes, tasks, and dated objects, without jumping between apps as often.
Better AI and a more powerful assistant
AI in Capacities should stay assistive: helpful when you need it, grounded in your notes, and never in the way of your own thinking. That remains our focus.
The assistant already searches your space, works with analyzed media, and supports multiple model providers. We'll keep making it more capable:
- Stronger reasoning over your notes and media, with better grounded answers.
- Deeper support for editing, creating, and organizing objects from chat.
- More reliable workflows when you bring media, weblinks, and other context into a conversation.
Focus on performance
Speed and reliability matter as much as new features. We'll invest in making Capacities feel snappier across everyday flows: opening spaces, navigating large notes, search, sync, and working with media. Performance work often shows up as many small wins rather than one headline feature, but you'll feel it.
Mobile and tablet: simplicity and performance
We want mobile and tablet to feel as considered as desktop: simple to capture and review on the go, and fast enough that the app stays out of your way. Expect continued work on startup time, navigation, touch-friendly flows, and making the essentials of Capacities solid on smaller screens.
Simplicity and design consistency
We want Capacities to feel clear, friendly, and consistent everywhere you look. That means less clutter, clearer defaults, and interfaces that behave the same way across the app.
We'll keep iterating on navigation, information architecture, and the experience around built-in object types so the product stays easy to learn and pleasant to use for years, not only for power users.
Our roadmap is ambitious, and not everything will land in the next two months. We're excited to keep delivering an app that simply works the way you'd expect, with less setup and organizational overhead, so you can stay focused on your work and creativity.
The future of knowledge work is bright. We're excited about it, and we hope you are as well.
